As a First-Generation, Mexican-American/Chicano, born and raised in the Northside of Denver, I am excited to continue my leadership role as President of CoCEAL. I believe in our vision and mission of influencing, challenging, and leading higher education in Colorado to advance equitable access, success, and graduation of Latinx students. CoCEAL has a legacy of amazing leaders who have transformed this organization and I’m proud to continue to lead this critical work.

Recent events regarding Affirmative Action and attacks on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), call us now more than ever, to put our core values into action, build coalitions to advocate for our community and policies that support DEI outcomes, and be a state truly dedicated to serving our Latinx students.

We look forward to seeing you at our semester membership meetings, especially as we celebrate CoCEAL’s Quniceañera on Friday, October 20th, 2023. Our meetings provide a space for staff, faculty, students, and community members to learn, build comunidad, and be part of the CoCEAL familia.
