CHECK PRESENTATION

It was a great start to the week, as I visited the Hope For Hunger Food Bank in Glendale. Along with community volunteers, I presented Hope for Hunger with another donation, this year totaling $60,000, on behalf of the non-profit Hometown Christmas Parade.

GLENDALE UNIVERSITY

On Wednesday evening, we hosted the first of ten classes for Glendale University at the Glendale Media Center. Our 40 students heard presentations from our City Manager's Office, our I.T. Department, as well as Budget & Finance. Learn more about Glendale University by clicking on the button below. We'd love to have you join us for 2026.

CENTERLINE RIBBON CUTTING

We cut the ribbon today for the Centerline on Glendale community. It is the first affordable housing development in the state to utilize state tax credits, created from bi-partisan legislation. These affordable high-quality units will help prevent homelessness and will benefit hard-working Arizona families.

BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS

Each week, we will feature a different board or commission. If you are a Glendale resident looking for a way to serve your community, have a special interest, or are an expert in a particular field, consider applying for one of the City’s boards or commissions. If you are interested in serving, applications are always accepted. Annual appointments are made every January. Appointments are also made throughout the year as vacancies occur. Applications will be kept on file for two years, and you will be contacted if your application has been recommended by the Mayor or one of our City Council members.

Commission on Diverse Cultures

What does the Commission on Diverse Cultures do?

The Commission on Diverse Cultures make recommendations to the City Council on ways to encourage mutual respect and understanding among all people, to discourage prejudice and discrimination, and to support cultural awareness and unity of the community. To learn more, click here.
