As Truist Securities wrote, "Overall U.S. RevPAR was +0.6% y/y for the week ending 03/08/2025, per STR/ CoStar, below the prior week's result of +3.1% y/y and below the trailing 10-week average of +2.7% y/y. Last week's results continued to show a bifurcation of performance between the Luxury chain scale (RevPAR y/y +4%) and all other chain scales (-1% to +1%). This split was most evident on Monday/Tuesday last week. Among top markets: New Orleans saw strong early week performance driven by the timing of Mardi Gras (full week: +17%, Sunday RevPAR +115%, and Monday RevPAR +43%). There was strong group performance in Chicago (market RevPAR +20%). Upscale RevPAR: -1.1% y/y; Upper Midscale RevPAR: -0.7% y/y."
