We need IMMEDIATE emails and calls TODAY/TONIGHT/TOMORROW MORNING into the U.S. Senate to:
1) oppose all attempts to restrict the ability of California and other states from adopting stronger restrictions on pesticides than those adopted by the U.S. EPA
2) oppose all attempts to provide immunity to pesticide manufacturers for harm caused by their pesticide products
3) oppose all attempts to prohibit the U.S. EPA from regulating PFAS (forever chemicals)
Please take the following IMMEDIATE actions:
1) Fill out the Beyond Pesticides Action Alert above or here
2) call your Senators (you can find their telephone #s here) - let them know how critical it is that no pesticide preemption or pesticide immunity language be included in the Senate Appropriations Bill for Department of the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026. Similarly, let them know no language prohibiting the U.S. EPA from regulating PFAS should be allowed in either.
All calls to the Senate are important! Even if your Senator is not a member of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, ask them to pressure Senators on the committee to ensure this language does NOT get included.
For those of you who don’t work in the area of pesticides much, this language poses an existential threat to our ability to reduce pesticide use and associated harms in the state of California. Please urge your colleagues, friends and families to take action now!!
Many thanks,
Sarah, CPR Policy Director
