Bringing home the gold

Thank you, PetWise and eShipping!

Talk about a truckload of gratitude! Recently, our generous friends with PetWise! and eShipping delivered a huge donation for us ~ a load of pallets packed high with beds and toys for our 70+ foster dogs. We also want to give a round of applause for our hardcore volunteers who braved the blistering heat and humidity to give their time sorting and packing the goodies ~ all to benefit our doggos!. Our hearts are full knowing we live in such a compassionate community that always comes through for us. Thank you. ♥

Help with vet costs

Many of us have been hit by a doozy of an emergency vet bill. It's not fun. But a family shouldn't feel obligated to give up their beloved family member because of that one bill. Keeping the Bulldog in a loving home is the best outcome for everyone involved. Thankfully, there is help out there! Email us to get pointed in the right direction. We want to help dog parents who are facing financial hardships.

Be prepared

It's a topic most of us shy away from, but it's inevitable, so let's throw open the door.... DEATH. Yeah, we said it.

Have you considered what would happen to your beloved Bulldogs if something unexpected were to happen to you?

Friends, get ready to ROCK

Our friend Chris Marsh is putting together a fantastic evening for us and you'll want to join us for this fun rescue fundraiser!

We'll start off the evening with a Bulldog gathering (from 5 to 7 p.m.) so you all can meet some of our awesome foster dogs.

Then, we'll crank up the bands!

Chris is also planning to do a raffle, a 50/50 raffle, a costume contest, etc., to help keep the fun (and fundraising) going all night.

We're also thrilled to share that Dawn White of CBS News Texas will be assisting with special emcee duties.

Be sure to RSVP on our Facebook event page as we'll be posting more updates as we get closer to event. Our heartfelt thanks to Chris for helping to coordinate this to help our doggos. Let's rock for the Bulldogs!

We. Need. More. Help.

We are in dire need of more foster families in the Dallas/Fort Worth area! We'd love to find some helping hands who can fill in when are other foster families are out of town. Maybe you can step up for a long weekend? A week here and there? The time you give will be brief, but the difference you make will be everlasting. Message us to learn how to apply and join our lifesaving team!

Hiding places of xylitol

The sugar substitute, xylitol, is known to produce acute, possibly life-threatening liver disease and coagulopathy in pets. But it's popping up in unexpected places these days, from coffee to cough drops to baby wipes. It's more important than ever to keep a close eye on ingredient lists of household products. Welcome Baylee Tera Boyd

From our volunteer Sonia: As a volunteer with rescue, we encounter all kinds of heart-wrenching stories. There are moments that fill us with frustration, when we learn of dogs who have been discarded like yesterday's news, and moments that bring tears as we empathize with owners who reluctantly surrender their beloved companions.

We recently received a call from West Texas about a Bulldog in desperate need of assistance. The Bulldog, Baylee, had been faithfully by her owner Tera's side through thick and thin. Tera had been battling seizures for some time, but recently, they had intensified, causing prolonged blackouts. Baylee remained steadfastly beside her during these episodes, but as Tera's health deteriorated, caring for Baylee became increasingly difficult.

So, we found a way to squeeze Baylee into our already overflowing program. Plans were swiftly put into motion to transport Baylee to safety, but our anxieties mounted when communication suddenly ceased. West Texas is big and we had no idea where we were going. This all prompted concerns that something terrible had befallen both Tera and Baylee.

Finally, we got heartbreaking news: Tera had suffered a seizure and a fall, sustaining head trauma that left her in a medically induced coma. Miraculously, Baylee had been placed with a friend, safe and sound.

Amidst this turmoil, a stroke of luck intervened—literally. A friend of the rescue happened to be in West Texas for work and willingly stepped in to bring Baylee to safety.

And so, we proudly introduce Baylee Tera Boyd to our rescue family—a beautiful senior lady soon to celebrate her 9th birthday. At around 60 pounds, she's a bundle of lovable fur and sweetness. Please join us in sending all the prayers, positive vibes and heartfelt hugs to Tera and Baylee as they navigate this challenging chapter. Their story reminds us that in the face of adversity, compassion and community can truly make a difference. Here's her bio page.

Have you met some of our other

 foster dogs?

If you are interested in adoption, you must first fill out an adoption application, which can be found on our website. The application lets us know what you're looking for and if you are approved, we can help determine which one of our dogs may work best for your family.

LIVE. LOVE. RESCUE.

Hundreds of Bulldogs are lost, abandoned, taken to animal shelters, or surrendered to rescue every year. Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue accepts Bulldogs whose owners can no longer keep them, and retrieves Bulldogs from shelters and undesirable situations. Our Bulldogs are placed in suitable homes as soon as reasonably possible.
