An overnight missile attack in Ternopil has destroyed the warehouse that stored all of the humanitarian supplies for the WeCare Center in Ternopil, which primarily serves women, children and elderly. The total loss of essential humanitarian supplies means our ability to meet the physical needs of Ukrainians in that area will be severely limited until the destroyed items can be replaced.
We are grateful that no WeCare Center team member - the staff and volunteers who bravely serve every day - was injured in the attack. But it is a stark reminder of the dangers the Ukrainian people live with every day.
An early assessment estimates the value of the destroyed supplies to be $50,000 - $100,000. The Ternopil leadership team is already working to identify a new storage location and arrange for replacement of the supplies. Any gift you can make today will help meet this critical need and make a difference.
Earlier this year, we described the work of the Ternopil WeCare Center in this video.
