Celebrating the Fifth Anniversary of Fisher House Kansas City

Five years ago, the doors of Fisher House Kansas City opened with a simple but powerful promise: when those who served our country need care, their families should never have to face that journey alone.

Since opening in 2020, this House has become much more than a place to stay. It has been a home away from home for military and veteran families during some of the most challenging moments of their lives—a place where they can remain close to a loved one receiving medical care without worrying about the cost of a hotel or the burden of being far away.

Within these walls, families have shared meals around the table, found comfort in conversations with others who understand, celebrated good news and supported one another through difficult days. Strangers have become friends. Volunteers have become familiar faces. And a House built to serve military families has become a true community of compassion.

For five years, Fisher House Kansas City has stood as a reminder that service and sacrifice are never forgotten. Our nation’s veterans and service members answered the call when their country needed them. Fisher House gives our community an opportunity to answer the call when they and their families need us.

To celebrate this 5-year milestone, we are hosting an Open House on October 6th from 2 pm – 7 pm. The entire community is welcome to join us, and we will serve light refreshments.

Five years. Countless acts of kindness. One enduring mission: serving those who served us.

Happy Fifth Anniversary, Fisher House Kansas City.

Celebrating 251 Years of the U.S. Navy

On October 13, we proudly celebrate the 251st birthday of the United States Navy and more than two and a half centuries of courage, commitment and service to our nation.

From its beginnings in 1775 to today’s Navy serving across the globe, generations of Sailors have answered America’s call, protecting our shores, defending our freedoms and standing ready wherever duty leads.

Their service is also a family commitment. Behind every Sailor are loved ones who endure deployments, missed milestones and long separations while providing strength and support from home. At Fisher House Kansas City, we are especially proud to honor those families and recognize the sacrifices they make alongside those who wear the uniform.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Blue Springs South

We sincerely thank the Blue Springs South Air Force JROTC and Blue Springs School District Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) for their generous donation of essential items to the House.

These thoughtful contributions help us provide a comfortable, welcoming home for the military and Veteran families who stay with us during a loved one’s medical care.
