A Prayer for Summer Months

Heavenly Father,

the summer months are upon us,

this precious time of extra daylight, warm sunshine and looser schedules.

Be with us in these days, Lord Christ.

Help us to cherish opportunities to unwind, be still, and feel your holy spirit dwelling richly within us.

Open us more fully to the ways you are shaping us and calling us to serve you in every stage of life.

Empower us to set aside fears of inadequacy and to focus more clearly on the path you’ve set for us,

knowing that we are never alone, but newly strengthened each day by the gift of your holy spirit. Amen.

-Emily Fleshman

World Vision Child Sponsorships

World Vision is an international organization that focuses on children living with food insecurity in developing countries all across the world. Participating individuals (or groups) sponsor a child at a cost of $39 per month, and this sponsorship fee provides food for that child. In addition to your regular church giving and your ongoing support of our Global Ministry partnerships, child sponsorship through World Vision is one option that individuals, families, and groups may choose as a way to support and enter into relationship with our global neighbors. The purpose of this invitation is to provide an opportunity for members of our congregation to become more personally involved in global mission. To learn more, you can visit with Dr. Russell Steele and David Grissett who will be in Frampton Fellowship Hall following worship this Sunday to share about their experiences of sponsoring children over the years through World Vision. You may also visit worldvision.org.
