This year, in an exciting new collaboration with Newman's Own Foundation, we are focusing our H2HC Prizes for Innovation on changemaking food and nutrition work in the U.S. that advances health equity for youth (up to and including age 18).
Far too many young people in the U.S. face food and nutrition challenges that impact every aspect of their lives. Among other statistics, we know that:
Nearly 1 in 5 children in the U.S. live in food-insecure households.
More than 1 in 4 American Indian and Alaska Native households with children are food insecure.
48% of Native American households reported living >10 miles from the nearest grocery store.
Our 2025 Prizes for Innovation are focused on innovative, systemic work in three categories:
Food and Nutrition Policy Work Advancing Health Equity for Youth
Nutrition Education and School Food
Indigenous Food Justice for Youth
Please share our national call for applications with your networks on LinkedIn. We look forward to seeing you in Boston on November 6 to meet what will be an exciting cohort of winners.
Warmly,
Nicolene Hengen
Executive Director
