Did you know...
cash is still [mostly] king in everyday German life?
"Whether at the market or buying a car for several thousand euros, many Germans still pay cash."
The cashless lifestyle has yet to fully take hold in Germany. In fact, most businesses in the Federal Republic still prefer cash over card, and German consumers don’t mind. According to the Deutsche Welle, one of the reasons cash reigns in contemporary Germany is that Germans “feel they can better keep track of the money they spend,” and because “paying cash keeps transactions more private.”
