Client Highlights
Personal Injury

After almost a year of injury, stress, and rehabilitation, three passengers, who were involved in a multi-vehicle accident on a major Atlanta interstate, were compensated by the insurance company and received their settlement checks.

Fenwick Thompson & Associates represents injured parties and fights to get every penny of the medical bills covered, while collecting compensation for the clients.

Call us TODAY to discuss your personal injury case and see how Fenwick Thompson & Associates can help you!
Custody and Child Support

Fenwick Thompson & Associates recommends that you keep records of all payments received and payments made pertaining the care of your child, when you share custody and/or child support obligations with another person.

Additionally, keeping a journal or a calendar with notations about scheduled parenting time versus actual parenting time is a good idea.... just in case you ever need it.
Legal Updates

Jurisdiction
CUSTODY, JURISDICTION, UCCJEA, 19-9-62, 19-9-62(a)(2)
Jurisdiction in a Child Custody case attaches at the time a complaint is filed, held the Georgia Supreme Court, and a Georgia Court continues to have jurisdiction over the case even if the parties move away so that none of the parties or the child remain living in Georgia. Plummer v. Plummer, S18G0146 .

Grandparent Visitation
GRANDPARENT VISITATION, EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES, GAL FEES, 19-7-3(c)(4), 19-7-3(e)(1)
Requiring that Grandparent Visitation take precedence over non-school related activities scheduled by a custodial parent does not violate OCGA §19-7-3(c)(4), held the 1st Division of the Georgia Court of Appeals, because defining "extracurricular activities" to mean "any" activity would vitiate the Visitation rights of the Grandparent.  Reid v. Lindsey, A18A1933 .

Child Support/Garnishment
CHILD SUPPORT, COLLECTION, GARNISHMENT
An employer is subject to a default judgment if it does not file all answers required in response to a continuing garnishment to collect a child support judgment held the 3rd Division of the Georgia Court of Appeals.  Rivers v. Rivers, A18A1725.
