REGISTRATION AND PRICING UPDATE

Greetings Stony Lakers!

As announced in our April 4 newsletter, we are excited to launch CourtReserve as our new software system!

We plan to roll out the system in four stages:

  1. Membership purchases
  2. Sailing registration
  3. Tennis and pickleball court bookings
  4. Tennis and pickleball lessons and clinics

Please take note of these important dates:

  • April 22: Membership sign-up opens
  • April 26, 27: Sailing Parents' Night Zoom calls
  • April 29: Sailing registration opens
  • May 13: Tennis and pickleball booking opens (for May 20 start)
  • June 26: Tennis and pickleball programs registration opens (for July 3 start)

To get you up and running on the new system starting April 22, you’ll soon be receiving an email with your personal login information and instructions. From there you’ll be able to purchase your SLYC membership, which will allow you to later register for programs and make bookings as they open up for the season.

Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to do online training for the new system, and we’ll have staff available to help as needed.

SIMPLIFIED FEE STRUCTURE

Regarding membership fees, the Board has approved a simplified structure based on individuals using the club. You’ll be able to register your individual family members as usual; the difference is that a fee will be charged for each person as opposed to one fee for the group.

Cost-wise compared to last year, for example, single-parent families with one or two children will see a reduction in fees, while two-parent families with two or three children will see a modest increase.

We're also introducing a Social membership for adults who don’t participate in sailing, tennis or pickleball. Social members will be able to register their children for activities, participate in social events and enter Weekend Races.

And for young adults under 30, we're offering a reduced fee to encourage their continued connection with the club.

Here is the new structure:
With these changes to our system, we expect that some people may encounter the odd issue or challenge, or even… an improved experience! We are very interested in your feedback, so please send any thoughts or comments to slycinfo@gmail.com

We’re looking forward to a great summer ahead. See you on Juniper!

Warm regards,

Greg Plant
