STAND UP TO CORPORATE POWER
Join us on Tuesday, May 28, for the relaunching of the Corporations v. Democracy Issue Committee!
WILPF'
s Corporations v.
Democracy Issue Committee is relaunching.
We invite your focus and commitment to help us move forward exciting projects that address issues in your community and across the US
We
'll look first at a list of options for action, to learn which ones you are working on and which ones need focus in your city and state.
Then we'll analyze the options we choose in terms of a SWOT analysis and the Movement Arc
.
Please review the attached information on these analysis tools before the meeting, to be on top of the discussion.
Here are some of the issues that demand our attention.
Which will we address on this committee? Which issues do YOU identify as particularly urgent?
- Public Banking -- particularly in states that are prime for this system change
- Economic Justice -- reduced need for student loans, stronger predatory lending regulations, and a national budget that's built on opportunity for all -- not on war, death and debt
- Voter Rights -- exploring local work for protections and innovations
- Media Consolidation & News Control -- whoever controls the news controls the reality!
- Money in Elections -- Move To Amend/Citizens United efforts opposing that improper influence and more
- Corporate Personhood -- especially re-educating the public about the history of it
- Profiteering & Polluting Corporations -- Challenging corporations to clean up their mess
- Sustainable Agriculture -- "Soil Not Oil" strategies
- Factory Farmers - enacting regulation of these to protect our land and water
- The Green New Deal -- Supporting sustainable energy, safe food, and environmental restoration
Our work is limited only by our capacity. Are you someone who is willing to work on addressing these issues? We'll choose which we want to address, set
prioriti
es, and move forward effectively!
Committing to this call
does not necessarily commit you to continuing on the committee,
but we want your perspectives about priorities going forward. Right now we're looking for ideas and
input.
