Hello, Friends!
November is a season of gratitude, and with National Philanthropy Day just around the corner, I've been thinking about the choices we make and the impact those choices have on our communities.
At its heart, philanthropy begins with a choice.
A choice to see a need and respond. A choice to believe in something bigger than ourselves. A choice to invest our time, talents, and resources in making our communities stronger.
On November 12, we'll gather for the 41st Annual National Philanthropy Day Celebration to recognize extraordinary individuals and organizations who have made those choices. Their generosity, leadership, and commitment remind us of what's possible when people choose to make a difference.
But philanthropy isn't limited to the moments we celebrate on stage. It happens every day through countless acts of generosity and service that may never receive public recognition.
This season, I'm choosing to be thankful for the people who make this work possible. Our donors, volunteers, fundraising professionals, and the communities that inspire us.
I'm especially grateful to our 2026 AFP Greater Dallas Board of Directors, who have chosen to invest their time, talents, and leadership in strengthening our chapter and supporting our profession. Thank you for your service and commitment this year.
As we look toward 2027, I hope each of us will consider the choices we can make to strengthen the communities around us. Whether it's mentoring a colleague, becoming more involved with AFP, or finding a new way to serve, each choice matters.
Because stronger communities don't happen by accident. They're built by people who choose to care and act.
Evan White
Greater Dallas AFP President 2026
