Welcome to Redeemer Life!
|
|
Last week we shared all the different and wonderful ways our congregation is living out the Word and healing ministry of Jesus. As a ministry staff, we feel God's presence so powerfully especially, when we see how the Holy Spirit is working through each of you.
Give-to-Give Sunday
|
|
On Sunday after our 8:30 a.m. Worship Service, more than 100 members of our congregation will deploy into the community to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus. No agenda. No expectations. Simply an opportunity to link arms as brothers and sisters in Christ -- living out the Word and healing ministry of Jesus.
It's not too late to sign up for a Give-to-Give project. You can do so online at this LINK or in person on Sunday morning. Please see Doug Weinrich's message below for more details.
Redeemer Call Committee Update
|
|
We are also happy to share that the Redeemer Call Committee has invited Pastor Andrew (Drew) Bayless and his family to visit Redeemer June 4-6. In particular, please mark your calendars for Worship on Sunday, June 6 at 8:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. when Pastor Drew will share the message A question and answer session will follow each service. For those unable to attend in person, we will have a process in place to solicit your questions online.
You can read more about Pastor Drew, his wife, Ashley and their two boys, Judah (5) and Kaden (2) at this LINK.

I've been a member of Redeemer my entire life!

What is something (a fun fact) about you that most people don't know?
I've been on eight (8) mission trips, allowing me to travel to countries around the globe.
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
That's a hard one, I love food! Maybe, Tacos!
What is your go-to Bible verse?

Anything else you'd like to share that I didn't ask?
Watching my boys grow up in Redeemer and find their own identities as Christ followers has been such a blessing.
Thank you for sharing with us today, Tracey. Lex and Athens are a blessing to you and YOU are a blessing to us. We are so thankful to have you call Redeemer home.

A Message from...
Senior Pastor Dave Noll
|
|
Happy Friday Friends,
Today I was thinking about the power of calling a person by name. For those old enough to remember the 80's sitcom, Cheers, you'll recall the response when Norm walked into the bar (Cheers). What did everyone say when they saw him coming? "N-O-R-M!"
Norm would take his regular seat at the corner of the bar counter. And suffice to say, Norm felt at home.
As the church opens up, the whole Ministry Team is looking forward to shouting your name as you walk through our doors. It is such a blessing to be able to welcome you back to in-person Worship here at Redeemer.
And as we open up, we've got some exciting news to share. After being delayed for over a year due to COVID-19, we are excited to be welcoming a candidate for Associate Pastor to visit us here at Redeemer.
Please mark your calendars for Sunday, June 6 at 8:30 and 10:30 when Pastor Drew Bayless will be delivering the sermon. Pastor Drew, his wife Ashley, and their two boys Judah (5) and Kaden (2) will be visiting us from St. Trinity Lutheran in St. Louis, MO.
I'd personally love it if you were here to shout their names when they walk through our doors -- welcoming them to Redeemer. Remembering their names -- saying their names out loud -- will make them feel like they have a home here at Redeemer.
Names are important and there is power in calling someone by name -- inviting them to be in church with you.
You can enjoy my full Friday message below.
Blessings,
Pastor Dave

While the past year has been full of twists and turns, and a lot of unknowns, the one constant has been Jesus. He's helped guide Redeemer's Ministry Team allowing us to consistently find the YESES. Our KC Weekend Experience is one of those YESES.

A Message from Josh Williams,
Director of Stewardship & Development
|
|
As we head toward June 30 and the close of Redeemer's fiscal year, we are faced with a small but not unusual budget shortfall. Since the 1980s, this has been the trend. Financial support for Redeemer's ministries typically declines after Christmas, and of course, our expenses remain the same. This situation is not unique to Redeemer, but common to all churches.
So why am I writing about this today if it isn't unique or new? Because with only six weeks left in the fiscal year, it is time to get serious about addressing the shortfall. We ask for your prayerful intercession that God guides us to a balanced budget. We know with God’s guidance, and your generosity, we can meet our June 30 budget deadline. The ministries of Redeemer are thriving as we continue to share the Good News of the Gospel -- making disciples of Jesus Christ.
Redeemer Endowment Fund
|
|
Redeemer's Endowment Board is currently accepting applications for Endowment Grants -- now through June 13. Endowment Grants are designed to support Redeemer’s various ministries in alignment with our mission and target outcomes of worship, outreach and discipleship. Previous grant recipients include, Hurricane Harvey Relief, Redeemer VBS, the Comfort Dog Ministry, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, the Piecemakers Quilting Ministry, and COVID-19 relief.
The Endowment Board has now given out upwards of $30,000 in grant funds to various Redeemer ministries. That is $30,000 that has gone to share Jesus' love in our community without touching the church budget or the endowment fund principle!
If your Redeemer Ministry would like to submit for an Endowment Grant, please call the Church Office (509.926.6363) to request a form. You can also connect with Josh Williams (jwilliams@redeemeralive.org) with any questions.

COVID-19 Health & Safety Update
|
|
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Redeemer has adhered to the health and safety guidelines put in place by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Governor Inslee's Office, and the Spokane Regional Health District. We continue to follow the guidance of these organizations.
Washington state has lifted mask and social distancing restrictions for fully vaccinated people, with just a few exceptions (hospitals, travel on planes, trains and buses).
In general, people are considered fully vaccinated:
- 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
- 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine
If you don’t meet these requirements, regardless of your age, you are NOT fully vaccinated.
What does this mean for Worship and ministry events at Redeemer? It means if you are fully vaccinated (per the above), you now have a choice as to whether or not you wear a mask indoors and outdoors. You may also sit with other fully vaccinated people without social distancing.
If you aren't fully vaccinated we ask that you continue to wear your mask and social distance for the protection of yourself and others.
If you have any questions, please call our Church Office (509.926.6363) or connect with Trisha Rountree, Director of Human Resources, at trountree@redeemeralive.org
