Updates from our Government and Small Business Association on the impacts of the Coronavirus

Small Business Support
The President announced loans through the Small Business Administration on Thursday evening. The Lt. Governor also talked about those in Sunday’s State press conference. Here is a
great resource page
that gives some highlights on this program.
Here in Ohio, the Development Services Agency is helping to take the lead and they have asked that any small business owners who have been affected please send your contact information to the following email address:
BusinessHelp@Development.Ohio.Gov
and they will follow up with you.
Impacted Employee Support
Your employees may be affected by the temporary restrictions put in place. The Governor’s office also announced several initiatives to help.
They are broadening current state policy to clarify that individuals that are quarantined by a health professional or by their employer are considered to be unemployed and will not be subject to requirements to actively seek work during the period of emergency.
This also applies to companies that determine it is necessary to temporarily shut down operations due to the current emergency.
Ohio currently has a 1-week waiting period before an individual can receive unemployment. In order to expedite the payments to impacted Ohioans, they are waiving the waiting week so that workers eligible for unemployment benefits will receive them for the first week of unemployment.
The Governor also announced some relief for businesses regarding unemployment:
·
Because they do not want to penalize individual employers for
the impact of this outbreak by increasing future taxes, the costs
of these additional benefits will be mutualized.
·
ODJFS will also waive employer penalties for late reporting and
payments for the next quarter to assist employers impacted by
lack of staff availability.
*We will also share more information on these, when available.
Bar/Restaurant Owner Support
The Lt. Governor announced a temporary buy-back of high proof liquor products purchased within the last 30 days. The goal of this is to ease cash flow for bar/restaurant owners. Here is a
release by the Department of Commerce
that shares more. It should be returned to the Agency where it was purchased. If you have questions you may call 1-877-812-0013 or email
ohioliquorinfo@com.ohio.gov
Federal Response
Additionally, Congress acted late last week to pass legislation to support businesses and families affected by the disruption. Here is
a great overview
by the US Chamber which breaks down what is included.
All federal agencies are working together to protect public health, including the U.S. Small Business Administration. Our agency’s top priority is to ensure Ohio small businesses – which total nearly 950,000 – can continue their contributions to the state’s economy, and our nation.
We are working directly with Governor DeWine’s office to facilitate a disaster declaration from the SBA for businesses to be eligible for Economic Injury Disaster Loans. To expedite this process, we need your help in disseminating the attached Disaster Loan Declaration Form for businesses to fill out. Once you have done so, please email the completed forms to
james.laipply@development.ohio.gov
Once that declaration is made and the SBA has confirmed it, the agency will be able to provide Economic Injury Disaster Loans of up to $2 million per small business to assist with economic recovery.
Below are links for disaster assistance:
The SBA will continue to support small businesses through this difficult time, and we urge them to visit
www.sba.gov/coronavirus
and follow @SBA_Columbus on Twitter or sign up for our
newsletter
for more updates.

We will not be allowing any solicitors in the building until after the CVOID19 is no longer a threat.
Hello All!
As we all muddle through the CVOID19 pandemic, adjustments may need made at some point to our operating schedule should the Governor impose additional restrictions on businesses that would prevent us from being in the office. We are equipped to work from home if necessary.
For now, our office is operating normally and without interruption. However, during this unprecedented time, we do ask WHEN POSSIBLE that you conduct business over the phone or through email, etc. If CASH is your only method of payment, it will certainly be accepted.
Here are some PAYMENT options to consider:
1) Call US or your insurance carrier direct to make a check, credit or debit payment over the phone.
2) Make your payment online via carrier website
3) Leave your payment in the black mailbox by our entry door (this will be checked often)—DO NOT LEAVE CASH
4) Mail payment if time permits
Here are some SERVICING options to consider:
1) Call us (normal office hours 8:30am – 5pm)
2) Email us at hello@suttoninsurance.com
3) Visit: https://www.suttoninsurance.com/client-portal for more service options
4) Text us at 330-299-8567
CLAIMS:
1) Call us (normal office hours 8:30am – 5pm)
2) Refer to your Claims Director and Auto ID card for direct numbers
3) Visit: https://www.suttoninsurance.com/client-portal
4) Visit your carrier website
REMINDER: We will not be allowing any solicitors in the building until after the CVOID19 is no longer a threat.

As your schedule changes and time becomes available I am standing by to help you bounce back from this interruption.
We can schedule a phone call or video meeting (zoom, skype etc.) and figure out a plan to best communicate and market AND promote, so that the impact of this event can be lessened.

After many sleepless nights I would like to inform you that Beauty & Zen will be temporarily closed. The current plan is to reopen on April 2nd, 2020.
I have always believed that what I do reaches people far deeper than exterior beauty. And I cannot possibly preach wellness while putting my clients and my family at risk.
If you have an appointment scheduled during this time, you will be contacted to reschedule by end of the day tomorrow.
Please keep an eye out for GIFT CERTIFICATE SPECIALS that I will be running during this time off.
I will not let anyone go without their skincare products. Please contact me at 330-977-7164 if you’re in need. I am currently working on a plan to allow you to replenish.
Thank you for your thoughts and messages of kindness during this difficult time
🙏🏼💜
This can’t last forever. For the time being...don’t wax your brows yourself. I WILL be back soon
😉

Dear Valued Clients,
Being in the Beauty industry for over 25 years I can say keeping everything sanitized/disinfected and sterilized is taught in school from day one and is a must considering the close contact that is experienced. So a clean environment here at the Studio is something that has always been practiced for everyone’s safety.
So keeping in mind your safety and health as well as others with much thought and consideration I have decided to close for 2 WEEKS or until the Virus has settled a little and we know more . It is impossible to to keep a distance as suggested while getting a facial/treatment and I would never want to put anyone at risk .
Please remember this is a temporary close and and if you need to make any purchases or have any questions feel free to reach out by phone, text or email.
This will calm ....and then we can look forward to getting back to a more normal. Until then stay well, be safe and by all means continue your skin care regimen!
Looking forward to seeing everyone at your next appointment 💗💗

MISHAN SALON
:As the concerns about contracting and spreading COVID-19 have greatly increased over the week, Mishan Salon will be closing and all appointments through March 30 have been cancelled. This was an extremely difficult decision for us to make but we feel it is our responsibility to keep our staff and their families safe and also do our part in slowing the spread with social distancing.
For many and most of our clients, we understand that having your nails done is a big part of your “normal.” We deeply apologize for taking this away from you at this time. At the moment, we are also adjusting to our new normal with our kids at home and how we will be getting through this difficult time with the closing of our small business.
Please check back regularly to stay updated with dates and times on when we will be accepting new/rescheduled appointments. As of now, all appointments after March 30, 2020 will remain as-is until further notice.
The sooner we stay away from each other the sooner we can get back together!
Thank you so much for your understanding.
Stay strong. Stay safe. Stay healthy.
Johnny and Mia

At this time of unprecedented risk from the highly contagious COVID-19 (coronavirus), out of concern for the health and safety of our guests, performers, and the community at large, the Aurora Community Theatre Board of Trustees has cancelled all performances of “Catch Me If You Can: A New Musical,” which had been scheduled for April 24 – May 16.
This decision was not taken lightly.
Staging a play, especially a musical, requires much advance work including many weeks of rehearsals for the volunteer cast and production crew, as well as upfront expenditures.
As a nonprofit arts organization, cancelling a play will have a significant impact on the ACT budget. However, by cancelling the play this far in advance, we are doing our best to minimize any negative effects on the bottom line.
Thank you for your understanding as we all work together to keep our community safe and healthy.
We look forward to seeing you at future performances.
Sincerely,
2019-2020 AURORA COMMUNITY THEATRE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Dear Families –
After heavy consideration, I have decided to close Elevation Dance Studio effective this evening until further notice. We plan to clean and sanitize the entire studio this weekend and re-evaluate the situation on Monday, March 16th and every day thereafter. Please be sure to check your email regularly, as the updates will be sent as information becomes available. I understand this is an extremely uncertain and sensitive time in our lives and I want to be able to provide a happy place for our dancers while school is on extended break.

An update on recent events as they relate to our studio...
As a result of today’s announcement by Governor Mike DeWine, we are temporarily closing our doors. We don’t currently have a reopening date, but please keep watch on our social media for future announcements.
We love you all. And based on the overwhelming messages of support we’ve received over the past few days, we know you love us too. 💌During this time when our world seems to be rapidly changing, it feels good to know we have the support of our community. Please know that we are still here to support you as well.
A few things to note:
*All Monthly memberships will be paused and placed on hold until we’re able to reopen our doors.
*Our “Bring A Friend” contest is also on hold, and will resume once things are back to normal. If you’ve already entered, you will still be included in the drawing.
*We plan on offering more classes on Facebook Live. The next one is this Wednesday, March 18th. We will be accepting donations for class (details to come, tomorrow). We’ve been asked by the community how you can continue to support us during this time. Donations are one way of offering support. Another option is to purchase an EZY gift certificate as a gift to a friend, or to yourself. We understand that not everyone is in a position to donate or make a purchase right now. Please don’t let that prevent you from attending our FB Live classes. We believe that we all need yoga now, more than ever.
.
We also believe that everything will work out for the best and that we can, and will, get through this together. All of this is temporary. 💜
Our next Facebook Live class is tomorrow, Wednesday, 3/18! Join us at 11:00 a.m. for the healing sounds of Crystal Singing Bowls paired with a Guided Meditation. 🙏🏼

Expanding STABLE Accounts to more Ohioans
By: Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague
March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, a time to discuss the inclusion of people with developmental disabilities and the barriers they may face in connecting to their communities. There’s also no better time to highlight how the STABLE Account program is changing lives– and how the business community can be a partner.
Before passage of the federal Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act, people with disabilities could only save a total of $2,000 before they would lose their means-tested benefits such as Medicaid or Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Disability-related expenses can pose a financial burden to many people and their families, and the old rules discouraged them from saving and investing. The ABLE Act authorized the creation of 529-like plans that act as specialized savings and investment accounts for people with disabilities that won’t cause them to lose benefits.
Through the STABLE Account program, people with disabilities are now more easily able to join the workforce and save what they earn. They are using that money to live more independently; buying cars, paying rent, and even putting down payments on their first homes. Impactful stories like these are why we’re reaching out to more Ohioans to get them enrolled.
Since the program was launched in Ohio in 2016, we’ve been the national leader in ABLE accounts. STABLE accounts were the first of their kind, and today, over a quarter of all ABLE accounts across the country are STABLE accounts. We’ve seen tremendous growth in the number of STABLE accounts over the last year. In fact, we recently surpassed 15,000 total active accounts.
Earnings on a STABLE account grow tax-free and are not subject to federal income tax, so long as the funds are spent on Qualified Disability Expenses. These expenses include education, housing, transportation, healthcare, assistive technology, basic living expenses, and many other items.
Over the last year, the Treasurer’s office has announced partnerships with multiple employers to offer a direct deposit for employees. So far, the State of Ohio, City of Cincinnati, Edison Community College, and UCO Industries allow eligible employees to directly deposit a portion of their paycheck into a STABLE account for either themselves or a family member. These partnerships are part of our ongoing efforts to make STABLE accounts more easily accessible to more Ohioans.
Our STABLE team is ready to assist in making the direct deposit option available to your employees. If your organization is interested in offering this benefit to employees at no cost, or, if you would like any more information about STABLE accounts, please feel free to contact the STABLE team directly at team@stableaccount.com.
