Cellar & Vineyard Updates

Happenings in the Cellar:

We are currently racking our barrels, which is when we separate the clean wine from the residual lees (dead yeast cells) once fermentation has reached completion. Then we will get the wines ready for their long winters nap!

Whites and Rosés are outside getting cold stabilized, and we are getting ready to release a new Hard Cider and our Perry (a pear hard cider)! Tasty drinks are coming this New Year!

Out in the Vineyard:

Pruning will begin soon, which is a busy and exciting time of getting the vines ready for new growth!

For those who like fun facts: we have about 5,000 vines to prune, and each vine takes about 3 minutes each. That means it takes about 250 hours to prune the entire vineyard!

Thank you for an unforgettable 2024! Cheers to a New Year & making a lifetime of new memories at Petoskey Farms!
