Greetings from C. Darby Ulery, founder of "Let's Go! Fairhope," events-related newsletter, calendar and website resource for Fairhope, Alabama.

Happy Labor Day! What are you most looking forward to (or what will you miss the most) as temps start to ease and sunlight wanes here in Fairhope? I hope you'll reply with your thoughts.

This week we're giving a "Let's Go!" shout out and thank-you across the bay to the Mobile Arts Council (MAC) for supporting arts-endeavors not only in Mobile but also Baldwin County for 70 years and counting.

Spanning genres and generations across the Mobile Bay area, MAC provides opportunities to the visual and performing arts for all ages and backgrounds (and even sometimes squirrels).

The 13th Annual MAC Throwdown visual art competition and fundraiser slated for Thursday, October 2 at the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf is on track to be the grooviest yet as the group celebrates 70 years!

***As the premiere arts community on the Eastern Shore, we need Fairhope to represent, y'all! Can you dig it??***

Mark your calendars. Grab your tix!

Find some funkadelic threads and some not-square friends, and prepare for a far-out night of local art, local artists, fun competition, and fundraising efforts for a great cause...

Let's Go! Fairhope is hoping to get a groovy group gathered to represent the Baldwin boogie beat. Book here by September 19 and reply to this email to let us know you're on the bus.

Literally...

If you would be interested in the possibility of group transportation to and from the event, please indicate this in your reply. If there is enough response, we'll look into booking a bus. Peace signs and flower power will be provided.

Find competing-artist bios here.

If your business would like to be recognized as a 2025 Throwdown supporter, download the sponsorship package / contact MAC Executive Director Angela Montgomery, and tell 'em Let's Go! Fairhope sent you.

Get tickets for the 2025 Throwdown here.

Wednesday

Bill-E's Small Batch Bacon sent an update on the monthly Bike Night scheduled for Wednesday 9/3: "This Bacon, Bikes, & Burgers Night at Bill-E's has a lot going on!"

*LG!F Note: Even if you aren't into bikes (but definitely if you are), take a sec to check out this trailer for the South East edition of the Backcountry Discovery Routes (SEBDR) film released earlier this year. It will be screened at Bike Night at Bill-E's, and if you don't feel inspired, as if you're actually on the ride, check your pulse!

We learned BDR is a "nonprofit organization that creates off-highway routes for dual-sport and adventure motorcycle travel, promoting responsible travel and keeping trails open." Who knew?! The route / film begins at the Gulf of Mexico, moves through Alabama Talladega National Forest, traversing trails in Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia... Looks like a blast, so "Let's Go!"

(Btw, we don't get a kickback for connecting you with this org. It just seems genuinely cool with connection to Alabama, so please reply if perhaps you've ever been on one of these trips - Thanks!)

Subscribe to Bill-E's on YouTube to keep up with what's going on with the bacon, burgers, bikes, events, and more
