GFCO Updates and Reminders

Renewal Reminder

If your GFCO product certificate is expiring soon, please make sure that you have paid your renewal invoice. The payment action renews your certification contract for an additional year. This payment also updates your GFCO certificate(s) expiration date related to that contract – it is not updated based on the last date of your audit(s), or on your plant registration date. Updated certificates can be retrieved via your GFCO Compass portal. If you have any issue retrieving an updated certificate for your products, please contact your GFCO Account Representative or reach out to gfco.clientsupport@gluten.org.

GFCO Account Representative Changes

GFCO is currently reviewing and redistributing client accounts across additional GFCO account relationship representatives that have joined the GIG team. This is to improve the balance of accounts managed among our team. If you are the primary or a secondary contact for your account, you will see a notice indicating this change when it occurs. This notice will come from the new GFCO representative taking over your account.

Compass Updates

It’s March and the use of Compass is in full swing! We can see everyone moving their ingredients into the system and appreciate your patience as we work through all the new submissions.

If you still have not accessed the Compass database, and you are the primary or secondary contact for a company that holds a certification contract with GFCO, please reach out to gfco.clientsupport@gluten.org to obtain a login to the system.

Keep in mind that the Product Label Image field under each product is intended for images that will be displayed publicly in our online product finder. Uploads in this field must be image files (jpg, png, etc.). Do not upload your packaging proofs into this field. Packaging proofs still need to be submitted to gfco.branding@gluten.org for review and approval.

Remember that in Compass, if you are a certification contract holder, you have the ability to add new customers/licensees at any time. To do this:

  • Go to the Companies tab and add the name of the new company that you will be producing for
  • Go to the Brands tab and add the new company’s brand(s)
  • Make sure your Ingredients and Ingredient Suppliers are up to date, then go to the Products tab to add the products for your new customer. Make sure to attach the ingredients to the products, select the correct manufacturing plant from your list, and then hit Submit for Review
  • Your account representative will be in touch to set up licensing for your new customer, but in the meantime, we can be reviewing and approving the products
  • Once everything is in place, you can download your new customer’s certificate, and you’ll be ready to start producing their certified products
