So Many Programs this Month!
Although summer has passed, there have been many offseason Village programs and events!
Last month the Village hosted its annual Clergy Wives Retreat, organized by Khouria Janet, Kh. Laila Elias (an AV pioneer), and so many others! We had a great turnout this year and can't wait to see everyone again next year!
|
|
Thank you to everyone who came for the St. Raphael Pilgrimage from November 3rd-4th! We celebrated Great Vespers, Orthros, & Liturgy together, and processed to St. Raphael's grave.
We look forward to making the pilgrimage a yearly tradition.

St. George Charleston Retreat
|
The Village was blessed to host Fr. Joseph Hazar and his parishioners from St. George Cathedral in Charleston, WV from October 27-29th for their annual retreat. They had a wonderful time with each other.
If your parish has any interest in holding an event at the camp, please reach out to office@avcamp.org. We would love to host more parishes!

Our year-round staff spent a day visiting the Monastery of the Transfiguration in Elwood City, PA. We were able to take some time for quiet reflection and prayer, as well as to attend a service and share a meal with the nuns. | Thank you so much to Mother Cristophora and the nuns for their generous hospitality! If you would also like to visit the monastery, information can be found Here
|
Fr. Chris, Cade, and our intern Nick hopped in the camp minivan and made a 2-day journey (47 hours to be exact) to Ohio and Michigan, visiting campers, staff, and alumni along the way. We look forward to embarking on more of these trips in the future. Let us know where we should visit next!
|
Many thanks to our hosts along our route and for everyone that made time for us to visit!

NAMIE HALL UPDATE!
Renovation on Namie Hall is well underway! The new siding, windows and roof are about halfway done. We can't wait to be able to use this space to hold events, host guest speakers, and more.
Thank you so much to those who have contributed to this project and made this transformation possible!

SHRINES UPDATES
Work continues on replacing the shrines of St. Raphael, St. Thekla, and St. Artemius!
| |
Last year's annual fundraising appeal was a huge success, enabling us to renovate Namie Hall (formerly the Old Dining Hall). Once again, thank you to everyone who so generously supported this project.
| |
|
This year, we are raising funds to continue facility upgrades with both a renovation of the Arts & Crafts building and to replace our Overnight tents and platforms.
All donations up to $100,000 will be matched by a generous anonymous donor!
Stay tuned for more info on this year's projects in the near future!

Hey AV Alumni! Do you love flipping through our photo albums when you come to visit? Well our intern Constantine Kallaur has spent the last year scanning all of our photos from our photo collection going all the way back to 1981! In an effort to preserve the history of The Antiochian Village, we are in the process of digitizing as much content as we have. God willing, we'll have every session video going back to the 1990's online in the near future as well.
Check out our SmugMug photo-site below to re-live the AV memories!
