The Angelico Project is lighting a beacon of hope.
An Angelico Art Challenge

Spring is here!
The flowers are blooming!
And it is a wonderful time to scatter the flowers of a spiritual bouquet!
Excerpt of poem by Saint Thérèse of Lisieux

To scatter flowers! – that means each sacrifice,
My lightest sighs and pains, my heaviest, saddest hours,
My hopes, my joys, my prayers, I will not count the price.
Behold my flowers!

How fondly, gladly I would give!
To scatter flowers! – behold my chosen sword
For saving sinners’ souls and filling heaven’s bowers.

The petals in their flight caress Thy Holy Face;
They tell Thee that my heart is Thine, and Thine alone.
St. Therese of Lisieux lived 9 of her 24 years in a cloistered convent. Without leaving home, she became a poet, an author, a saint, patroness of foreign missions and a Doctor of the Church.

Not bad for a lady who spent years “sheltered in place” !

Turn your spiritual bouquet into something tangible by turning scraps of cloth into lovely fabric flowers.

‌
Now, to scatter those flowers!

  • Make a Mother's Day spiritual bouquet for your mother, grandmother, godmother or spiritual mother.
  • Send a flower with a note to someone in a nursing home.
  • Attach the flowers to a framed copy of St. Therese’s poem and mail to a friend.
  • Teach a young girl about spiritual bouquets and give her a flowery headband as a reminder.
  • And if you aren’t sure how to go about sharing your gifts, pray to the expert, St. Therese the Little Flower for guidance.
A special thank you to Jayne Murphy for collaborating with us by providing the inspiration for this email.
