Ongoing change and growth continue here at HHA, and as we approach the end of

this year and we are excited to inform you of some new journeys beginning

as we move into 2023.

Dr. Grindstaff and Dr. Wakely are opening a new clinic, Aster Integrative Medicine (AIM), and will begin seeing their patients at the new practice

as of February 6, 2023.

All scheduled patients will keep their existing appointments, they will just be occurring at the new office located less than 4 miles from HHA, beginning the first Monday in February.

Aster Integrative Medicine is rooted in the desire that both doctors have for ongoing growth, expansion, and partnership, which will allow for additional outreach and the ability to help even more patients. The wonderful, close working relationship between Dr. Wakely, Dr. Grindstaff, and the doctors and staff at HHA will continue moving forward.

Here at Holistic Healing Arts, Dr. Amy Derksen, Dr. Marina Johnson, Nurse Molly, and the HHA staff will continue supporting you with your medical care needs, as HHA expands into offering more focus on post-COVID recovery, ozone therapies, Acupuncture, and foundational naturopathic care as well as a new venture Dr. Amy has been working on, announced in this newsletter, below.

Dr. Amy and Dr. Marina are currently accepting new patients and Dr. Marina is keeping space available for your acute care needs.

For those of you following Dr. Grindstaff and Dr. Wakely to their new location, please know that you will continue to have access to your HHA portal even after they move, so access to our staff will not be interrupted.

We welcome you to continue ordering supplements through our office at the same no-tax and free shipping options as well now, easily accessible using the “Online Store” button on the toolbar at the top of the Charm home page.  

If it has been some time since your portal has been active, please give us a call. We are happy to re-activate your account to allow you access to our full inventory. (We will be out of the office a lot between now and January 3rd for the holidays. Leave a voicemail with your full name and date of birth to activate your portal, we will be checking! and we will be filling orders when our office is closed.) We look forward to running sales in the near future.

We also encourage you to continue scheduling your services with our HHA providers, including, acute care, acupuncture, IV therapies, etc. Over the years, we have enjoyed getting to know you and serving you, and want you to know that you are also welcome to just stop by and say hello when you are in the neighborhood!

Please visit this website for any questions on the new location, additional information will be added soon, there is already an intake form up on their site for brand-new patients.

Communication through the end of January – please continue, as usual, using your HHA Charm portal and/or calling HHA just as you have been.

Scheduled appointments – all appointments scheduled through the end of January will take place at HHA with no changes to the process or schedule; you will continue to reach us through the Charm portal (messaging Scheduling, Medical Questions, and Dispensary) or by calling HHA as you have been doing.

New Portal for those moving to the new clinic: Optimantra – Dr. Grindstaff and Dr. Wakely have made the decision to use Optimantra for the patient portal at Aster Integrative Medicine. All scheduled patients will be receiving an emailed invitation in January to register their new Optimantra portal– more info on that to come soon. Dr. Wakely and Dr. Grindstaff will continue to have access to your existing records in HHA's CHARM portal.

It has been such a blessing to work with such a dedicated team and to be able to support each other's growth. We are very proud of our colleagues' efforts and so excited to see them achieve one of their dreams.

We look forward to all the possibilities that both their growth and our partnership will bring, as well as being able to serve our patients in a more expansive effort.

We have long wished to provide an easier, more cost-effective, way to reach more of the people who need this type of care, patients who for a variety of reasons have not been able to afford it or who have had difficulty traveling to attend in-person appointments. And for those patients who do come to our office, there is only so much we can cover during an appointment, and so much more we would love to be able to share!

How do we empower our patients to have all the tools they need and teach them how to troubleshoot so they can depend a little less on pricy doctor's appointments?

Dr. Amy and Dr. Thalia have developed a new pyramid of approaching wellness, one that includes foundational support, diet, environment, drainage & detox support, methylation & mitochondrial support, gut health, immune modulation, as well as how to effectively address microbes in the body.

As a team, we have also realized that one of the most effective ways we can help more people is by passing our knowledge in treating complex chronic illnesses to other Practitioners, allowing us to have a positive impact that reaches far beyond our walls, helping these providers to help their patients.

Dr. Amy Derksen is actively working on developing both Patient and Practitioner training online curricula in partnership with Dr. Thalia Hale, ND which should launch by the end of the year in 2023.

Dr. Amy's hope is to help reach a much wider audience by allowing easier and more affordable access to this type of medicine to both patients who may be currently priced out of this type of care, and those who have been treated by her for years, as well as provide a platform where practitioners can join together and learn some of the amazing tools and support methods we have been so fortunate to learn from both our mentors and patients over the years.
