Hello Chamber Members,

Spring has finally arrived, though it doesn't really appear to want to be here!

I wanted to take this time to remind everyone that we offer gift certificates to be redeemed at all Chamber businesses. Even better, they don't expire! So if you have some stored in the junk drawer because you think they've expired - they don't (we actually encourage everyone to use those old ones up!).

If you're looking at purchasing a gift certificate for your friends, family, employees, or anyone in your life please throw me an email and I can get those ready for you so you can just pick up and run.

Also, a friendly reminder that I would love if you could take a look at our membership directory on our website and let me know if there is any changes needed to your business (address, hours, logo - really anything!) and if there is, shoot me an email with the updates.

I am also looking for a business who would like to host and speak for our July, August, and September speaker series (aka our Chamber Luncheons!).
This is a great opportunity for your business to speak to the community with help planning and advertising from the Chamber of Commerce. Please send me an email if this is something your business is interested in :)

Seniors Advocacy Town Hall Meeting
March 22 was World Water Day and I am excited to share with you that Rio Tinto has launched a water data platform – an Industry first – to increase transparency on our surface water allocations and usage at our sites, including BC Works. Additionally, we are publishing all our surface water allocation and usage data from the past five years and can provide historical data on request.
 
We are committed to finding better ways to minimize our impact on the environment, and to sustain our shared ecosystems, planet and natural resources for future generations.

Minimum Wage Increase - June 1, 2023

On June 1, 2023, B.C.'s lowest-paid workers will get a pay raise with the general minimum wage increasing from $15.65 to $16.75 an hour.
