Recipe: Kim's Baked Ham

Ingredients

  • 1 14-16lb fully cooked, spiral-cut smoked ham (I purchased mine at Marchant's in Sturgeon Bay)
  • 2-4 c. water
  • 1/2 c. light brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 1 jar lingonberry jelly
  • 1/2 t. cloves

Equipment Needed and Available at Cornucopia

  • Roasting pan (Le Creuset, Viking, or Made In)
  • Silicon spatula
  • Carving knife and fork set

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Place ham in a heavy roasting pan.
  3. Pour 2-4 cups of water in the bottom of the roaster. Cover in aluminum foil. Roast according to ham directions.
  4. In the meantime, mix brown sugar, lingonberry jelly, and cloves together in a mini food processor and set aside.
  5. When there is one hour of roasting time remaining, remove the ham from the oven and top with the prepared glaze.
  6. Return to the oven without the aluminum foil and cook for the remaining hour.
  7. Enjoy!

Notes

  • I served this with Ina Garten's Fennel Au Gratin Potatoes and a cold cauliflower, broccoli salad.
  • There is always plenty of ham leftover to make grilled ham and cheese sandwiches or to use the ham bone to make pea soup.
