What We Learned Last Sunday

Huge thanks to everyone who participated in Trunk-or-Treat! Whether you were here as a trunk or treater, as one of our over the top creative trucks, food helpers, craft helpers, or game helpers, it was an amazing party! These events bless our neighbors, and only happen when we all come together in ways both large and small!

Coming Up this Sunday

November 1: Service Sunday and Communion. All ages, please go directly to the Border Chapel. On November 8, kids in grades kindergarten and above are leading worship. We will use this time together to decide on people to offer prayers, read scripture, and for the older kids to learn the songs that the younger kids have been working to learn. Then we will all go to communion as a group.

Next Sunday

November 8: Kids Lead Worship! Please arrive by 9:30am!

Living The Questions

Sunday Mornings • 11:30am-12:30pm

This week in worship, we celebrate All Saints Sunday, when we remember those beloved members, friends, and family who are no longer with us. We’ll use this class time to pause, learn, and reflect with one another on the unique opportunities to engage in aging as a spiritual practice. We will also offer some practical suggestions and provide resources to assist with the pragmatic sides of aging. Especially helpful for those with aging parents and/or loved ones. Childcare is available in room 103.

Growing with God: Early Childhood Faith Formation

Saturday, November 14 • 9-11am

Growing with God is a place for our youngest members and their parents to learn about God and ways to incorporate faith into the everyday. HAUMC members Deb Roberts, retired early childhood educator, and Jan Russel, certified Parent Coach, are helping plan these meet-ups. Together we will share fellowship and support on the parenting journey. Contact Brenna Healy at brenna@haumc.org.

Save the Date: New Years Retreat

Camp Koronis • Thursday, December 31-Saturday, January 2

We loved this retreat so much that we booked it again as soon as we came back after the holiday! There is no better way to relax after the busy holiday season than a retreat where someone else does the cooking and you just relax and enjoy both indoor and outdoor winter activities!

Adults: $200. Kids under 18 are free! Click HERE to register.

Christmas Caroling

Sunday, December 13 • Carpool Leaves at 12:15pm • Walker Place

Let’s share some Christmas spirit! Many of our older congregation members live at Walker Place. This is a great opportunity for small and tall alike to enjoy some caroling, hot cocoa, and crafts with our older members. Plan to have brunch at church, then meet in the East Entry at 12:15pm to carpool over to Walker Place.

Youth Music Ensemble

11:30-Noon • Grades 6-12 • Church of Youth

We’ll continue to meet weekly to learn music for engaging practice and lead worship at various times throughout the year. We are excited to learn compelling and challenging music, beginning with singing and branching out to other instruments as there is interest. Let’s add to our numbers and have a great time making great music!
