July brought a heat wave along with a wave of growth for Yale Ventures. The fifth cohort of Blavatnik Fellows began with us and we’re excited to have their wide-ranging experience to help drive faculty innovation at Yale. We also welcomed Claudia Reuter this week, inaugural Director of the recently launched Roberts Innovation Fund. In close partnership with Yale Ventures and the Office of the Dean of Engineering, Claudia will help support early stage projects in computational technologies including data science, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, blockchain and high performance computing.
We are still in the process of recruiting top-tier talent to help expand the impact Yale Ventures has on supporting the translation of Yale technology. Most recently, we announced a new position within the corporate development team, a Corporate Strategy Officer for Health and Life Sciences. Additionally, I’m thrilled to share that Yale Ventures is leading a local coalition to launch a climate tech incubator here in New Haven. We are collectively looking for an exceptional candidate to run that program.
As you will see in this month’s Yale Ventures Report, there’s a ton of activity happening within the Yale and New Haven entrepreneurial ecosystem including faculty spinout news, student venture milestones, and a great deal of community momentum.
