Jennifer* is FREE
At FOCUS Ministries, we are privileged to hear the real stories of domestic violence victims through our Chaplain, Natalie. Each day, she connects with women through phone calls, Zoom calls, in-person support groups, online support groups, and personal visits to temporary homes and shelters. She regularly sends prayer updates to a dedicated group of prayer warriors who lift up these women as they struggle to find hope. But Natalie also gets to share moments of victory — and the story below is one of them. It brought us to tears. We are so grateful to share this encouragement with YOU — the people who keep our lights on and make it possible for us to continue being a helping hand to women fleeing abuse.

"Good afternoon faithful prayer warriors and praise God with us as another of the women in our support group is now legally free from abuse! I accompanied Jennifer* to court this morning where the attorneys met privately in the judge's chambers to iron out the final settlement of the dissolution of twenty years of an abusive marriage. The long, grueling battle is over and the Lord has shown great favor and much justice, all things considered.
She is happily settled into her new home with her children; the old family home full of sad memories has a sale contract and she has a strong faith that all the Lord has promised shall come to pass. She will continue her education to become a counselor and work small part-time jobs that allow her to be home with the children after school. She has strong support from her church family.
She doesn't have to walk on eggshells anymore. She doesn't have to be fearful that he will rip into her for the slightest perceived misunderstanding or accuse her of false allegations. She doesn't have to put up with his porn habit or his lies or his abuse of the children and the dog either.
On behalf of Jennifer, I want to just thank you for lifting her up for all blessings these past few years. The Lord has blessed her and held her close in His arms through all the grief and pain and all the unknowns - she knows that she can trust Jesus for all things moving forward. We are so grateful for your heart-felt care of the women in our group, especially Jennifer.”
