PSI Meeting at SERC

The ReMA Paper Stock Industries (PSI) Chapter elected a new slate of officers, honored outgoing PSI President Tamara Mayberry (pictured at right), and recognized Past PSI President Nini Krever for her dedicated service to the PSI scholarship program at its all-member/election meeting on Monday, Feb. 16, during the Southeast Recycling Conference & Trade Show (SERC) in Miramar Beach, Florida.

The following newly elected PSI officers and board members will take office immediately after the ReMA annual convention in April, and they will serve for the 2026-2028 two-year term:

■ President: Kathy DeLano, Dixie Pulp & Paper Inc.;

■ Vice President: Ed Tucciarone, Graphic Packaging International; and

■ Secretary/Treasurer: Justin Jungman, PADNOS.

Directors-at-Large: Jim Keefe, Recycling Today Media Group; Shawn Logan, Waste Management; and Krystina Smith, Smurfit WestRock.

Treasurer); Kathy DeLano (President); and Ed Tucciarone (Vice President). (Not pictured: Shawn Logan and Krystina Smith, both directors-at-large.)

After the election, Kathy DeLano recognized Tamara Mayberry for her career achievements as well as her 12 years of volunteer leadership service to the PSI Chapter, which included serving as Events Chair, director-at-large, Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President and—for the past two years—President. Mayberry also has served as chair of the ReMA Paper Division and as a member of the ReMA Leadership Committee. During her term as PSI President, Mayberry was a tireless ambassador for the chapter at industry events, improved the chapter’s financial position, and helped its scholarship program set records each year, among other accomplishments, DeLano noted. Though PSI is sad to see Mayberry step down as PSI President, she will serve the next two years as PSI’s Immediate Past President, which includes reviewing PSI scholarship applications and helping to select the winners, DeLano said. In recognition of her service, PSI gave Mayberry a gift necklace and a matching collar for her beloved dog Bandit.

PSI also honored Past PSI President Nini Krever (above far left with Tamara Mayberry) for her decades of service on the Scholarship Committee, including many years as chair. Throughout those years, Mayberry said, “Nini has been the most dedicated and tireless promoter and leader of PSI’s scholarship efforts, devoting countless hours to requesting donations, encouraging applications, evaluating those applications, helping to select the winners, notifying those winners, and communicating the program’s results after the fact.” Krever’s passion for the PSI scholarship program has helped it grow from a single $500 scholarship when it started about 30 years ago to 21 scholarships totaling $55,000 in 2025, Mayberry noted. In short, the program “wouldn’t have achieved its current success without her,” she said. As a result, PSI announced it will name the program’s grand-prize scholarship the Nini Krever Award for Academic Excellence in her honor. “That is PSI’s gesture to pay homage to Nini and all she represents to the program,” Mayberry said.

Past and present PSI Chapter Presidents gathered at the Feb. 16 meeting, including (left to right) Nini Krever, Marty Davis, Joel Litman, Myles Cohen, Leonard Zeid, Shawn State, Tamara Mayberry and Kathy DeLano.
