Dear Katy Grammar Families,
We are all eager to return to 11th Street, but our contractors are still working with inspectors to gain final clearance on our two main buildings. We now anticipate that happening early this week. As such,
- Kinder - First Grade will continue at Katy First United Methodist this week. The carpool pickup and drop off location remain the same.
-
Second - Fourth grade students will continue this week at St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church, but our classrooms will be in their Family Life Building. We will still use their gymnasium for PE, recess, and lunch.
- Please see below for an updated carline map, as the drop off and pick up location at St. Bartholomew’s has changed.
- Walkers from St. Bartholomew will be released at the end of carpool at 3:30 at the west side of the church; please see the map for the exact location.
- Since we are not yet back at 11th Street, we will not be able to have YMCA afterschool care. The YMCA requires that state licensing approve each location before providing childcare. As our temporary locations have not been approved, they may not supervise scholars at either church.
We do not underestimate how challenging this situation is for all of you. Please know that we are diligently working to make wise decisions as we receive updates on the construction.
Finally, we are grateful for the continued hospitality and kindness offered to us by Katy First United Methodist Church and St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church.
Sincerely,
Kathryn Locheed
