Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity establishes endowment to mark 50th anniversary
During the 2019 Homecoming weekend, the Epsilon Rho Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., celebrated 50 years on the WKU campus and announced the creation of the Kappa Alpha Psi Achievement Fund.

On the field during the Homecoming football game, a $60,000 check was presented to launch the fund. As fundraising efforts have continued, the Kappa Alpha Psi Achievement Fund now has commitments of more than $70,000.

Founded on May 10, 1969, the Epsilon Rho (EP) Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity was the first historically black Greek-letter fraternity chartered at WKU and the first Kappa chapter at a predominately white institution of higher education in the southeastern region of the United States. Since its inception, the chapter has produced prominent alumni in the fields of business, public education, law, science and journalism.

The new edition features “110 proven [poetry writing] exercises,” 16 more than the first edition’s 94. “I think that people want to learn about poetry so they can write their own poems. It gives students more confidence when they see that another student was able to take this exercise and come up with something good,” he said.
