Hello Families!

We have started creating our own Collects of the Day in Children's Church and talked about praying to God with our Needs, Gratitude, and Praise. Anne Lamott calls this the Help, Thanks, Wow prayers. Two Sundays ago, our first volunteer prayed and our first offering was collected. This past Sunday, lots of kids remembered their offering and two people wanted to pray: a fifth grader and a Kindergartner.

Both bravely came up in front of their peers and "assumed the prayer position" with heads bowed and hands clasped in front of them. The fifth grader began with prayers for clean water and food for all people, for peace, and for our church. That really threw me. Have I prayed for our church lately? I have certainly prayed for individuals in the church, but not for the church as a body.

As we come back together "in-person" (as the kids automatically say!) after so very long a time apart, I think it is a very wise and much needed prayer.

Let us pray for this community,
for a reconnecting through the practice of our faith together,
for a new and deeper engagement with our church family,
for a welcoming inclusion of our new family members—drawing the circle ever wider,
for a sense of purpose—to be God's hands and feet here on Earth, together.
Peace to you,

Kathy

Morning Run Group

Next Meeting: Saturday, February 19, 8:00-9:30 a.m., meet at the surface parking lot at All Saints'

Morning Run is a group of runners and walkers who meet on Saturday mornings to explore the neighborhoods around the church. After about an hour run (10-11 min pace) or walk, we go to Starbucks at 4th Street and Spring Street for coffee and conversation.

Interested in leading the walking group? We invite a volunteer to lead the group of walkers each Saturday.

Registration is not required, but it is the best way to get updates in case of inclement weather.

St. Cecilia’s Young Women’s Group: Sunday Devotional

Next Meeting: Sunday, February 27, 6:30-7:30 p.m., on Zoom

All Saints' women in their 20s and 30s are invited to join us for monthly (online) gatherings. You might be a college student, graduate student, young professional, newlywed, new mom, or "old hat" mom, but one thing we all have in common right now is CHANGE. We will spend an hour together on the fourth Sunday of each month in fellowship, digging in to how Christ will carry us through all of these transitions of our lives.

Here are a few things that help make formation run smoothly for teachers:

  1. Know that your children will get a snack at the end of class and there are some traditions embedded here. Club 45 gets glazed doughnuts (so please tell your child NOT to get one before class). K-1st and 2nd-3rd will begin getting their favorite popcorn again (up to you about a donut before class, but they should finish it before coming to class).
  2. Have your child go to the bathroom before joining class.
  3. Pick-up happens promptly at 11:05 a.m. as teachers need to clean up and leave. Teachers may have something to share with you about the class and we want to make sure all kids have gotten back to their parents.
Please Register for the 2021-22 Program Year

If you haven't already, please don't forget to register on Realm for Little Saints, Children's Ministries, and Children's Choirs.
