We Want Your Feedback On Bulk Collection
Scottsdale Solid Waste provides monthly brush and bulk collection for homeowners. Not all high-end subdivisions in North Scottsdale allow bulk pickup in their communities. Sincuidados does.

Sincuidados' rules allow homeowners to put bulk trash on the curb nine days before the week of pickup. Some people believe this service provides an easy and convenient way for them to dispose of items too big to fit in their curbside container. However, the Board of Directors has received complaints that the amount of bulk trash left on our streets creates a poor appearance.

The board is interested in receiving your feedback on whether the community should consider changes to bulk trash pickup.

  • Should Sincuidados keep brush pickup (such as landscape trimmings) but stop all bulk trash pickup (such as old furniture)?
  • Should Sincuidados continue both brush and bulk pickup but instead allow homeowners to put bulk trash on the curb only two days (instead of nine) before the week of pickup?
  • Should Sincuidados leave brush and bulk collection as is?

Slight Majority Oppose Call Box Long Distance
In a survey, 53.4 percent of homeowners who responded said they are opposed to allowing Sincuidados call boxes to dial out-of-state numbers. 46.6 percent who responded said they are in favor.

Some Sincuidados homeowners have out-of-state cellphone numbers they kept after moving here. Currently, the community's three call boxes at the entry gates can dial only local area codes.

To enable the call boxes to dial out-of-state area codes, the HOA would need to pay for long distance service, costing approximately an additional $200 per month or $2,400 per year.

The survey received 116 responses.
2nd Streetscape Meeting Scheduled For Nov. 16
At 6pm, Tuesday, Nov. 16, Sincuidados is scheduled to hold a second Zoom meeting to provide homeowners an opportunity to ask questions and share feedback about the Streetscape Plan, a master landscaping plan for the community's common areas. The meeting will again include an architect from Swaback, the firm preparing the plan.

The goal of the plan is to update the look and feel of the community’s street frontages, entrances, islands and clubhouse area with a consistent look. This will re-enforce Sincuidados' identity as a natural open space community.

Once the community finalizes the Streetscape plan and decides on various options, the board then would seek cost estimates and recommend a plan for implementation.

Time For A Brush Up?
The Sincuidados Design Guidelines require maintaining the paint on home exteriors throughout the community. Specifically, "the condition of paint on community homes will be periodically evaluated by the HOA and if it is reasonably determined that a home needs a fresh coat of paint, the homeowner will be notified in writing and required to repaint their home within a period of six months."

You can find the full set of Design Guidelines at Sincuidados.org.

After the New Year, the HOA will look to determine if houses need painting
due to such things as excessive weathering, bleaching of the paint and mis-
colored paint.

If the Design Review Committee already approved your painting project and you hired a painting contractor, but the contractor is too busy to start work in a timely manner before the end of the year, please contact Community Manager
Suzanne Hawk with with a proposed completion date.
Seeing The Light
During the next few months, the Design Review Committee will check address monument lighting to reduce light pollution.

The HOA contracted with “The Maintenance Group Inc.” to oversee and implement a plan to replace all monument lighting with an approved Sincuidados brand standard bulb. This will include identifying "hot spots," light pollution and other forms of improper lighting.

Work will happen after dark. There will be no cost to homeowners for the initial swap out to the new standard bulb.

Please verify that your address monument light is working, supports a 110-volts running to the monument with a medium base receptacle and that a photocell or timer is also working

Please contact Community Manager Suzanne Hawk with any questions.
