According to the California Center for Jobs and the Economy, California remained the 5th largest economy in 2021 and 2022, and in a press release dated March 13, 2024, released by UCLA Anderson Forecast (one of the most widely watched and often-cited economic outlooks for California), the Golden State’s economy is growing faster than the nation.
In a 2020 report (the most recent annual data) by the California State Assembly’s Committee on Jobs, Economic Development and the Economy, California's largest industry sector was Finance, Insurance, Real Estate, Rental, and Leasing with $573M in revenue accounting for 19.0% of the state’s GDP.
The housing market in California has shown promising signs of recovery despite navigating some challenges such as the impact of mortgage rates, however the overall trend indicates positive growth. Existing home sales experiencing a significant rebound in January 2024, particularly in Los Angeles County, where the median listing home price reached $960,000.
Having one-fifth of the state’s economy resting on our respective industries not only shows the importance and magnitude of our contributions, but also clearly demonstrates why Real Estate and Insurance make for the perfect partners.
