5 Steps to be Eligible to Show at the

2025 Washington Town and Country Fair

STEP 1: You must be a member in good standing with 4-H or FFA.

The Fair Board Livestock Committee will request lists from 4-H and FFA showing the individuals who were members in good standing in 2024.  Your name must be on one of these lists in order to show livestock at the 2025 Fair. If you have questions about your standing, you can contact your FFA advisor or check in 4-H Online. First year exhibitors will not need to be on any list and will be allowed to show.

STEP 2: Enroll in 4-H or FFA

You have completed STEP 1 and need to enroll in 4-H or FFA no later than January 1, 2024. No exceptions will be made.

STEP 3: Tag-In

You have completed STEPS 1 and 2, you are now eligible to tag in animals for the fair. The online form for tag-in is available at www.washmofair.com/livestock. You must complete the form online to be eligible to tag in an animal. If this form is not completed prior to arriving at tag in, you will not be allowed to tag your animal.

Tag-in dates for the 2025 Fair are:

Steer and Dairy – Saturday, February 15, 2025 (*make-up date if needed due to weather: February 22, 2025)

Hog and Lamb – Saturday, April 26, 2025

You are required to attend tag in with your parent or legal guardian and the animal(s) needing to be tagged. These dates are published a year in advance in the livestock handbook and on the fair website so exhibitors can plan accordingly.

STEP 4: Register to show your Livestock at the Fair

You have completed STEPS 1, 2 and 3, so you are now eligible to register your animals. All livestock registration is done online at www.washmofair.com/livestock and you must register and pay fees for all animals you will be showing at the fair. The system requires you to add an exhibitor AND add classes for the exhibitor to complete the registration process. If you have not entered any payment information, then your registration is not complete. Please contact the Fair Office if you have any issues with registration.

STEP 5: Fair Time

You have completed STEPS 1, 2, 3 and 4. It is time to bring your animal(s) to the fairgrounds. The exhibitor must be present when weighing their animal. Weigh in times for animals are:

Hogs – weighed as soon as they come off the trailer.

Lambs – weighed Tuesday night at 8:30pm.

Steers – weighed on Wednesday immediately following the Sheep Show.

PLEASE read/review the Livestock Handbook for details on rules, classes, shows and other important information to make your experience uneventful. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us. Thanks!
