Community Resource Highlight:

Digital Navigators at the Denver Public Library

Some individuals with developmental and intellectual differences face challenges when navigating technology that can be a barrier to accessing basic needs and services. The Denver Public Library's Digital Navigator program provides support by empowering individuals to build confidence, opportunity, and independence through digital literacy.

The library’s Digital Navigators provide free, one-on-one technology assistance to community members, helping them learn foundational computer skills and how to navigate various digital tools. Navigators can assist with smartphones, tablets, and computers; email; online services; job or benefit applications; device accessibility features and settings; online safety; and other everyday technology needs.

Individuals can meet with a navigator once, or on a regular basis to build their skills over time during hour-long appointments at the library or other location of the client’s choice.

Led by Tina Kimpo, Digital Navigator Supervisor, and Diana Valle, I/DD-focused Digital Navigator, the program is funded by Denver Human Services IDDEAS Program to ensure digital navigation services are inclusive of and meaningful to Denver’s Intellectual and Developmental Disability (I/DD) community.

If you or a loved one are interested in scheduling an appointment, email dignav@denverlibrary.org or call 720-865-3446.

Our 4th annual Soirée was a huge success - we raised over $132,000! The generosity of our supporters helps us provide Therapy That Fits® for more children with developmental differences and elevate our programming each year. Thank you for an incredible night!

So much of clinical reasoning happens beyond what we can immediately name. Our work is to stay curious, attend to the child and caregiver, and ground what we sense in observation, reflection and evolving clinical hypotheses.

We looking forward to exploring this important space with our co-founder Tracy Stackhouse, MA, OTR/L and Kelly Beins, OTR/L, RYT, during an upcoming live webinar: Embodied Clinical Reasoning in Pediatric Practice: When Knowing Isn’t Enough on September 28 from 1–2 p.m. ET.

We hope you’ll join us for a thoughtful conversation about what we know, what we sense and what we have yet to understand.

Consultation That Fits:
Practical Support Beyond Direct Therapy

DFX extends support through our Consultation That Fits program. Our goal is to help more families get high-quality care, especially in places where services can be hard to find. Through virtual sessions, we are able to serve families across the globe and help them access the care they need.

During consultation, we work with parents, caregivers, teachers, therapists, and other important people in an individual's life. During our time together we'll share ideas, teach helpful strategies, and connect families with essential resources to support the individual. We hope to help each child grow and succeed in the places where they learn, play, and live.

Thank you for being part of the DFX family and helping us bring Therapy that fits® to more kids!
