Business After Hours & Shopping Night this Thursday, November 16



Free and open to the public: From 5 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, November 16, we’re hosting Business After Hours with The Dalles Chamber of Commerce and we'd love you to join! Admission is free and open to everyone.

Almost everything in our museum store, which is chock full of gifts and goodies, will be up to 20% off for the evening.

Archaeology Roadshow with Portland State University on November 18



FREE: On Saturday, November 18, from 11 am to 3 pm, we're hosting the 11th annual Archaeology Roadshow. With events held in Portland, Bend, and Burns/Hines, the event focuses on The Archaeology of Transportation, featuring dozens of exhibits and activities hosted by archaeologists and heritage specialists representing universities, tribes, federal and state agencies, companies, and nonprofits.

There will be a panel of experts on-site to offer you information and the history of objects you own that you want to know more about.

Also, check out the offsite exhibit at the Wing Hong Hai Building, 210 E. 1st St, The Dalles: Archaeology & History of the Wing Hong Hai Building with the Friends of The Dalles Chinatown and Oregon Chinese Diaspora Project.

Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned volunteer ready to get back into the museum, we’re ready for your help. We’re looking for a variety of skills and backgrounds, so reach out if you have extra time in your schedule and want to give back to our community. Some areas that often need volunteers include greeting guests in summer months, groundskeeping, raptor care, event staff, and collection inventory.
