Economic Development Department Updates

1) NEW FEATURE: South Glengarry Business Spotlights

Based on business owner feedback at our breakfast, we will feature one local business monthly in this newsletter. Each spotlight will provide a business overview, introduce the owner(s), and give their location and contact details if you want to connect.

We have many outstanding products and professional services right here in South Glengarry. Let’s celebrate and support these businesses to strengthen our community! Scroll down to see the first spotlight!

If you want your business featured in an upcoming newsletter, contact Jennifer.

2) COMING IN MAY: Social Media LOVE LOCAL Campaigns

We are implementing another great suggestion from our business community: to create informative social media posts that promote our local businesses and encourage the community to think local when making purchasing decisions. As we witness a rise in the support-local movement, let’s harness this momentum to help our local businesses grow and thrive.

Campaign Goal:

  • To emphasize the importance of supporting the people and businesses that make up our community
  • Shopping local helps keep money circulating within our community, supporting local jobs and businesses.
  • It allows consumers to build relationships with local business owners and entrepreneurs.
  • It makes our business and community stronger!

3) SAVE THE DATE:

Business Networking Mixer at Jack's Pub Coming May 14th @ 6 pm

Another great suggestion from our business community! We have business owners who cannot attend early morning networking events. So, this quarter's networking event will be at Jack's Pub starting at 6 pm. We plan to alternate between breakfast and evening events.

Date: Thursday, May 14th from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Location: Jack's Pub, Williamstown (Back Room)

Mayor McDonald and Warden Lang will attend. More details will be released on April 21. I hope to see you there and get your feedback.
