October 1, 2024

Dear Friends,

While sitting in a rocking chair on the porch of the Hike Inn, I had the perfect view of an incredibly tall tree in the midst of a forest. I watched as its upper branches and leaves swayed gently with the cool breeze, yet when I looked down, I noticed that the lower half of the tree was completely still, unaffected by the wind. The top half danced gracefully with the air, moving back and forth among the surrounding trees, the leaves making music with the wind, while the trunk remained solid and steady. It anchored the tree to the earth, allowing the upper branches to sway freely, yet keeping the tree firmly rooted below.

Our trip to the Inn allowed us to bond over meals, friendly game rivalry, 10 miles of hiking, and a beautiful mountaintop service. It was a calming and spiritual experience. As I reflected on the dancing tree and the bonds formed on this trip, I found myself thinking of our group. My hope for each of you is that All Saints, the Young Adults group, or even just one person you have met here become part of your roots, the thing that keeps you grounded despite what may cause you to waver.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We have returned to our usual service times: 8:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Well wishes,

Tasia Blair (she/her)
