Long Beach Buys
A new contracting opportunity has been posted by the Port of Long Beach to provide temporary high-quality, four-color printed Signage and Installation services. This is a unique opportunity for both small-scale projects (Tier 1) and large-scale projects (Tier 2), or both, as defined below. The Pre-Proposal meeting is scheduled for November 3, 2025 @ 10am.
• Small-scale projects (Tier 1) typically require rapid production and delivery to the Port upon receipt of design and artwork. These projects often include ground-level displays, signs, and meeting signage that can be installed by 10 or fewer in-house crew members using standard equipment.
• Large-scale projects (Tier 2) upon production, require professional on-site installation, maintenance, and removal, which may be required on the same day. These projects typically involve billboard-sized signage at high elevations and that require 11 or more in-house crew members using specialized equipment. Past examples include signage for the Grand Prix, with future work potentially supporting major events such as the Super Bowl and 2028 Olympics.
A few helpful reminders:
-
Vendor Registration - all vendors must be registered on PlanetBids to submit an RFP. They can apply for free registration and SBE certification at the same time using this link: PlanetBids Portal
-
SBE Certification - The Port accepts the State of California Department of General Services SBE Certification. When a vendor submits their RFP, our SBE team will check that their certification is active on the CA DGS website. If they do not have a SBE certification yet, they can apply for one directly with the Port.

Pre-Proposal Meeting on Nov. 3, 2025 @ 10am: I strongly recommend interested consultants participate in the upcoming pre-proposal meeting. This is a great way for consultants to learn more about the RFP, hear directly from the Division, and ask questions.
