The COP26 Summit is over, and American once again suffered an unnecessary black eye as Biden kowtowed to the globalists.
Instead of being a leader on the world stage, Joe Biden once again apologized for America, taking a backseat rather than being a leader, allowing other countries such as China and India to have their way while pledging to reduce carbon emissions to such an extent that it will impact thousands of Colorado jobs and all Coloradans. And in a surprise announcement, the U.S. and China said they would cooperate to limit emissions to address climate change, all while China builds countless coal-fired power plants. Furthermore, do you trust China to live up to any kind of agreement with the US? I don’t!
During the COP26 Summit—“Conference of the Parties”—Biden apologized for former President Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris Accord, in a speech mocked by a Being-sponsored news agency. Once again, a weak Democrat is prostrating himself and our country, telling world leaders we are “behind the eight ball,” and committing to zero emissions by 2050, an unreasonable and devastating goal that other countries simply cannot achieve; not to mention the Left cares not for the destruction that will be reaped upon our economy in the process.
Yet when India balked at phasing out coal mines, the Summit members relented. It seems India gets a pass where the US does not. But make no mistake, coal mines will be shuttered prematurely without sound reason; and if the withdrawal from coal is anything like our withdrawal from Afghanistan, tens of thousands of Coloradans will suffer.
Democrats claim that retraining coal workers to “green” jobs will mitigate the blow to communities in our state that rely on these mines to fuel their economies. But a study by Colorado Mesa University shows that over the long haul, green energy jobs will replace less than 15% of the vacancies left from closing the mines. Furthermore, this push to shut down coal power plants is nonsensical given new clean-coal technologies which capture 99% of emissions.
Who is running the show when it comes to climate change agreements? It seems it is China—who is building hundreds of new coal power plants and mining 80% of the lithium used to make solar batteries—and India.
When making agreements with the world on policy and economy, our leaders must put our country first. American cannot give away its position as a world leader. Unlike Joe Biden and Michael Bennet, I will fight for our country, ensuring we can all affordably heat our homes and power our transportation. I need your help to do this; I simply cannot do it without you.
The U.S. Senate seat in Colorado is winnable, and I have been promised some large-scale donor support, but I need to prove you are with me. To this end, even the smallest donation makes a difference. In the meantime, I’m working round the clock to meet fundraising goals. Please join our cause and stand up with me by donating today.
