Election Hero Day honors the behind-the-scenes people who keep elections running smoothly—from maintaining voter registration databases to processing ballots, testing equipment, and guiding voters at polling places.

We are proud to say that many LWVSRQ members serve as poll workers. We are grateful for their service!

The League of Women Voters of the United States is the managing partner of Election Hero Day.

Vilia and Rhonda present a message of gratitude signed by many of our members to Paul Donnelly, Communications Director for Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections.

Your generosity puts our shared values into action – empowering voters, defending democracy and making every voice count right here in our Sarasota community.

Please consider a year-end gift to the League of Women Voters of Sarasota County

Your tax-deductible gift to our Education Fund will make an immediate impact. To ensure our vital work continues for generations to come, please remember the Sarasota League in your legacy giving.

Democracy is a journey we share. Thank you for being part of it!

In League,

Vilia and Rhonda

A Celebration of Life

Robert Toale and Sons

7545 S Tamiami Trail

Sarasota, FL 34231

"Throughout Pat’s adult life there was one constant (other than Jim of course) and that was the League of Women Voters. After Pat and her husband retired to Sarasota, Florida

in 1991, Pat resumed her near full-time dedication to the League, taking on the role

of League president, moderating political forums and co-hosting a weekly “Blab TV” show with the former mayor of Sarasota Kerry Kirschner." Read Pat's full obituary here.

"In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the League of Women Voters of Sarasota County. In remembrance of Pat, please vote in the midterms."

October 20th Sarasota County School Board Report Card

The board chair unsuccessfully attempted to address the issue of legislative priorities

stating that the new board could add to them. The current board did not seek community input on the issue, once again pushing a personal agenda. No one [on the school board] responded to the comment regarding 352 books being removed from the schools.
