Hello friends!

Tonight, Themes+Projects will be open from 11am to 7pm as the Minnesota Street Project stays open late for the October First Saturday!

(Installation View)

Currently on view at Themes+Projects is Water, Woods and Sky by Charlotte Schmid-Maybach!

Building upon her previous work, this collection continues her exploration of constructing images inspired by fleeting moments, abstract forms, and the natural world. Charlotte creates her photographs on kozo paper and adds depth through her use of thread and mixed media.

(Detail close-up) Charlotte Schmid-Maybach, Night Threads, 2024, sewn archival pigment prints on kozo paper, thread, vintage lace, 39 x 43.5 inches.

(image) Heaven is a Place, 2024, 14.25 x 19.5 inches framed, sewn archival pigment print on kozo paper, thread, printed silk gauze overlay in shadow box, edition of 3 with unique variations.

A new and notable element in this body of work is her innovative use of a secondary printed image on silk gauze. This additional layer introduces a dynamic visual interplay of the artwork and adds an ethereal effect as the viewer shifts their perspective.

Exhibition on view September 7 - October 26, 2024

We look forward to your next visit!
