Reopening is Underway
Last week as Village Hall reopened to the public, I presented the proclamation announcing Thomas Warren Day to the man himself. Tom is retiring with the distinction of being the village's longest serving treasurer. Parks, fields, playgrounds and the sprayground are now reopened in compliance with guidelines from NYS. Please take note of signage in each location, and expect things to be different than before.
At last week's meeting we had a visit from Assemblywoman Sandy Galef to discuss the village passing a resolution for a home rule message which is on a special session agenda for this week. This is a step in the process to propose a bill in the Assembly and Senate that would keep the door open for the village to potentially take ownership of the Powerhouse to be used by the Sing Sing Prison Museum. Assemblywoman Galef and Senator Carlucci anticipate going into session in the coming weeks, at which time local bills of this kind will be considered. This process does not commit the village to taking any action, rather it allows time for exploring the best path for the success of the museum project while protecting the interests of the village.

Wednesday's Meeting
This week's work session has just three items. We'll begin with an update on next steps for the Comprehensive Plan from BFJ consultants. Next up Westchester Power is visiting with an update on Ossining's sustainable energy. The final work session topic is a discussion of how we will review police policies and formulate a plan in compliance with the governor's executive order.
