President's Message

Happy Aloha Friday!

We are officially in the season of pumpkin-spiced latte's, cooler mornings, and hopefully sweater weather soon.

How is everyone doing? It has been a roller-coaster of emotions, shut-downs, partial shut-downs and now getting ready to welcome visitors back into our State, and hopefully jump-start our economy. I'm happy that our members are keeping in touch with us. Feel free to email us or call if you have any suggestions for future webinars/events or would just like to catch up. Members also have the opportunity to visit our National site to learn more about the design and construction industry, current news and industry outlook during COVID. Please also visit our partners BIA Hawaii, ASID Hawaii and AIA Honolulu for specific industry related news.

Thank you for your continued support of our on-going free webinars provided by our industry peers and National. A huge thank you to our guest speakers Feras Irikat and Chris Brown of Lunada Bay Tile, for bringing the Color Theory presentation virtually for our members a couple weeks ago. We had a lot of fun, especially showing off the swag to each other that Lunada Bay Tile provided for our participants!

This month's free webinar series from National is up on the website. October's theme is "Storage Design Trends". See topics and link below.

Our programs committee will be working on other educational and fun events (virtually) for the rest of the year. I know everyone is zoomed-out at times and we appreciate you joining us when you can. We can't wait until we can host in-person events again.

We hope everyone is doing well. Please feel free to reach out to us. We would love to hear from you.

Until next time, stay safe and healthy.

Cris Johnson, 2020/2021 President
Hawaii Kitchen & Bath

We would like to officially announce the new officers of the Aloha Chapter. These positions were up for election and they both self-nominated to fill the vacancy for 2021. We are excited to add them to the council. Both have already been volunteering their time in various committees for our Chapter.

Recap of Color Theory Presentation (September 22nd)
Thank you Aloha Chapter Members for showing your support by attending our virtual event, hosted by Lunada Bay Tile.

Participants were treated to a very informative look at the psychology of color, it's history, and the effects of color on our everyday lives and decisions. We got a better understanding on customer decisions and the role color plays with our interactions with potential clients and how we design and build their projects. A newer presentation is in the works, reflecting on design elements and customer requests during the time of COVID. Stay tuned.

It's easy to set up and a great way to connect to other members here in Hawaii and throughout the United States. Use it as a platform to showcase your work and your business. Employers, please make sure your employee list is current (names, emails). Employees, if you don't see your name under your company membership, ask your company to add or update the information. Members and consumers can search the site using location, products and services offered by the member, certifications, and more!
