Dear Independence Middle School Families,

Next week marks the beginning of our state testing period, and we want to ensure that all students are well-prepared for this important time. Below are a few reminders to help set your child up for success:

  1. Rest and Preparation: Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest the night before their testing days. Well-rested students tend to perform their best!
  2. Chromebooks: It is essential that students come to school with their Chromebooks fully charged and ready to go.
  3. Cellphones and Smartwatches: To ensure an uninterrupted testing environment, we will require all cellphones and smartwatches to be turned off and stored away during testing. Please remind your child to leave these devices at home if possible or ensure they are secured and turned off.
  4. Appointments and Absences: We kindly ask that you minimize any appointments during testing days if possible. Once testing windows begin, it becomes very difficult to accommodate students who arrive late or need to leave early. Your cooperation in this will ensure a smoother testing experience for all.

Lastly, please remember that while these tests are important, they do not define your child. They are simply a tool to measure growth throughout the year. We are incredibly proud of all our students and the hard work they’ve put in.

Thank you for your continued support!
