About 148 Ministries

148 Ministries is a non-profit organization that reaches out to men and women who have been wounded physically, emotionally, and sexually. But what does that mean?

Back in 2017, two broken people saw just how much grace God really had. Having lived through addictions, divorce, and job loss, they were left only with the kind of realization we can have after seeing the worst of what the world has to offer…that God never once left. Not only did He not leave, He dug in, blessed up, and protected when it was most undeserved.

148 Ministries has grown out of that kind of blessing and the type of unconditional grace that we all need...

David and Amber Storvick began with the modest skill set they already had went into recovery facilities using what they knew, fitness and faith. It was never glamorous and often the whole operation was subject to adaptation and a somewhat awkward reach toward others. And that’s where God worked.

We love because we were first loved. 148 Ministries was never able to be an unyielding structure because it was always designed to love the reality of who others are exactly where they were.

Several times a week now, several volunteers with all kinds of backgrounds walk into several different facilities to do just that. Sometimes it’s a workout followed by cookies, sometimes it’s a sermon followed by discussion, sometimes its sitting with pizza after no one shows up of bible study. But it is always a group of normal people that simply said “whatever I can do” and then stepped into darkness with as much light as they had.

148 Ministries is an informal group of people who got to see just how much grace God really has and they go where it is needed most and love others exactly where they are. Just like they were.

For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
