Idaho State Mourns the Loss of Cole Hildebrand
Dear Students,

It pains us deeply to inform you of the loss of a member of our Bengal family.

Cole Mathew Hildebrand, a graduate student pursuing a degree in clinical mental health counseling, passed away unexpectedly following an automobile accident on Saturday, January 9.
The University has been in communication with Cole’s family, and they wish to express their deep gratitude for the outpouring of support they have received during this difficult time. Cole was one semester away from earning his master’s degree, and will be greatly missed by his classmates and faculty.

Cole will be remembered for his great love of the outdoors, including fly fishing and tying his own flies, sturgeon spearing, bow hunting, golfing, and mountain biking. He was also artistically gifted, not only as a writer, but also in his ability to play the saxophone and guitar.

A funeral ceremony will be held on Saturday, January 16, at 11 a.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church in Weyauwega (West Bloomfield), Wisconsin. More information about Cole’s funeral arrangements and obituary is available online. You can also share your thoughts and memories of Cole online using that same link.

Our Counseling Center is available to anyone who wishes to talk with them about this tragic event. Please call (208) 282-2130 for appointment information and availability. If you are experiencing a life-threatening crisis outside of regular business hours, please call the crisis line 1-800-273-TALK(8255).

Every student contributes in no small measure to the Bengal community we create, together, at Idaho State. The loss of any student impacts all of us.

Sincerely,

Craig Chatriand
