Greetings!
On this 6th Sunday of Easter, we remember: God does not leave us. Jesus sends the Holy Spirit to guide us, strengthen us, and teach us to live our faith through everyday choices: kindness, honesty, courage, and love.
When answers feel slow or the path is unclear, we trust God’s timing, hold to hope even in suffering, and follow His commandments, not as rules alone, but as trust put into action.

With grateful hearts and great joy, the Garrett and Cook families are delighted to share the beautiful news that two cherished baptisms were celebrated last week in the Catholic faith.
Surrounded by family, friends, and the loving presence of our faith community, these sacred occasions marked the beginning of a lifelong journey with Christ. Through the waters of Baptism, those little ones have been welcomed into the Church and embraced as beloved children of God, filled with grace and light.
We give thanks for this special time of blessing and renewal and for all who joined in prayer and celebration. May these precious children always walk in faith, grow in love, and be guided by the Holy Spirit in all they do.

A Prayer for Mothers
Heavenly Father, source of all life and love,
we praise You and thank You for the gift of mothers.
Bless them with Your grace, strengthen them with Your peace,
and fill them with the joy that comes from knowing they are deeply loved by You.
We ask Your special comfort for those who long to be mothers,
those who have experienced loss, those who carry heavy
burdens, and all who are missing their mothers today.
Draw near to them with Your tenderness and hope.
Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
Mother of the Church, may every mother in our parish be
protected, encouraged, and upheld in faith.
Amen

Wow—thank you, parish family! Your generosity to the Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Store this weekend was amazing, and thanks to you we filled the truck! A special, heartfelt thank-you to Mike Taylor who (with great help from his grandson) rented the truck, loaded every donation, and delivered it all to the Thrift Store.
And the need keeps growing: we continue to see an increase in requests for food deliveries. In April, we made 32 deliveries to 144 people (87 adults and 57 children). Thank you for your steady, faithful pantry donations—because of you, our neighbors are being fed and cared for when it matters most.
| Fr. Jim Kolb's 50th Anniversary Mass | Last weekend at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, there was a joyfully celebrated Father Jim Kolb’s 50th anniversary of his Ordination, at a beautiful Anniversary Mass. The church was filled with heartfelt singing, prayer, and gratitude as members of Fr. Jim’s family, Resurrection parishioners, and many fellow Paulist priests gathered to honor this remarkable milestone. What a blessing it is to have Fr. Jim as part of our community! | |

Exciting (and joy-filled) update from Faith Formation’s Bridge Program! Sunday’s Father’s Heart service project was a big success, and the kids did an incredible job staying engaged and working as a team. This was the third and final Bridge service activity supporting Father’s Heart, a wonderful way to wrap up the Faith Formation season.
Together they packed 50 sack lunches, and they were delivered to Father’s Heart on Monday! This is a great example of faith in action in a stewardship parish, sharing our time, talent, and treasure with our community and as we help our parish children grow in faith.

Thank you to everyone that wrote letters to our Senators and Representatives in Congress asking them to ensure nutrition funding is prioritized in the Farm Bill. 169 letters were written based on information from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and Bread for the World. If you didn't have a chance to write letter(s) last weekend, please consider writing one now to each of our Senators and to your Member of Congress.
To find out who your Representative in Congress is, use the U.S. House's website,
Find Your Representative | house.gov, and enter your address.
Sample Letter (or better, give any personal experiences):
Dear Senator (name) or Representative (name),
Please work with your colleagues to ensure the nutritional needs of people that are food insecure are met and that adequate health care is available for the poor. It's important to get bipartisan support for these measures.
Specifically, I'm asking you to push for:
- Fully funding WIC and SNAP at their inflation adjusted FY2024 level,
- Restore Medicaid funding and eligibility to its FY2024 level, and
- Fund international Humanitarian aid at the $32.4 billion level requested by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. This includes:
- $10 billion for Global Health,
- $6.3 billion for Development Assistance,
- $4.8 billion for Disaster Relief,
- $4.0 billion for Migration and Refugee assistance, and
- $1.9 billion for Agricultural Assistance.
Thank you,

QCD
A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who meet the age requirements old or older to donate up to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions.
RMD
Required minimum distributions (RMDs) are the minimum amounts you must withdraw from your retirement accounts each year. You generally must start taking withdrawals from your traditional IRA, SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, and retirement plan accounts when you meet the age requirements. Changes in deduction rules and limitations will impact how much you can deduct for donations.
Meeting the age requirements, you may qualify to take annual distributions from your retirement account to make tax free donations to charities of your choice.
Resurrection Church is a qualified public charity 501(c)(3) and can receive your QCD.
Contact your financial advisor for updated and relevant tax advise.
Will, Living Trust & Estate Planning
Include Resurrection Catholic Parish or School in your will, trust or estate planning. Your gift – no matter how big or small – ensures our church, school, or school endowment fund can continue all of the incredible work we do, and you will be making an impact in the lives of others for many years to come.
We are deeply grateful for your consideration in supporting
Resurrection Catholic Church and Resurrection Catholic Parish School
with your generous donations. Thank you for keeping us in your hearts.
