Community, business, religious leaders and elected officials gathered today (April 23) outside the Broward County School Board Administration building, to show support for Broward Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie. Runcie was arrested on the charge of Perjury, indicted by a Grand Jury appointed by Florida Governor DeSantis.
Among the speakers were Broward Commissioner Dale Holness, Miramar Mayor Wayne Messam, President and CEO of Greater Ft. Lauderdale Alliance Bob Swindell, Senator Perry Thurston and Keith Koenig, CEO of City Furniture. Speakers urged the School Board to keep Superintendent Runcie employed until the process is completed.
