Dear Members and Friends,

March was an important month for us at the GACC NY as we celebrated a major milestone: the 30th anniversary of the GACC NY's J-1 visa designation. Marking three decades of fostering transatlantic exchange and talent development, we are especially proud to have launched our new Go J-1 website in honor of this occasion.

At the end of March, we were also pleased to host our first ever Defense Symposium, "Capital, Capacity, and Capability: Building a Transatlantic Defense Economy," in collaboration with the American Council on Germany (ACG) and hosted by our member Deutsche Bank.

Following the insightful discussion at our German American Business Outlook (GABO) presentation in mid-March at TRUMPF in Connecticut, we continued the conversation on April 13th in Boston at our member Forvis Mazars. This event marked the first flagship event of our newly established Boston Chapter. In April, we were also excited to celebrate the official ribbon-cutting of the Boston Chapter together with representatives from the City of Boston. This milestone marks an important step in strengthening transatlantic business ties in the New England region. We are especially grateful for the City's warm welcome and honored to have received a Certificate of Recognition - a meaningful symbol of the strong partnership we are building.

Back in the New York area, we gathered at our member Kühne + Nagel Inc. in Jersey City for our event "Supply Chains Under Pressure: Tariffs, Trade, and Logistics in Transformation," where industry experts shared valuable insights into the shifting dynamics of global supply chains.

Looking ahead, we are excited for our upcoming events, including our Automotive and Mobility Forum, "Driving Future Growth: Scaling Innovation in Automotive, Mobility & Industry" at our member KPMG on April 29th. As well as our White Asparagus Gala Dinner at Tribeca Rooftop on May 20th, where we are honored to welcome Joe Kaeser, Chairman of the Supervisory Boards of Siemens Energy AG and Daimler Truck Holding AG, as our keynote speaker.

We look forward to welcoming you soon at our upcoming events!

Warm regards,

Your GACC NY Team

We are excited to announce the launch of our new Go J-1 visa website! The new platform offers an enhanced user experience and reflects our continued commitment to supporting international talent and fostering transatlantic exchange.

As we mark the 30th anniversary of our J-1 visa sponsorship program, we are proud to build on three decades of enabling early-career professionals to gain valuable international experience.

Capital, Capacity, and Capability: Building a Transatlantic Defense Economy

In cooperation with the American Council on Germany (ACG), this year’s annual symposium “Capital, Capacity, and Capability: Building a Transatlantic Defense Economy” focused on the transatlantic defense and security landscape.

The discussion underscored the importance of moving more quickly from strategy to execution in an increasingly dynamic environment, while emphasizing how industrial capacity has become a strategic priority. At the same time, it reaffirmed the strength and resilience of transatlantic cooperation, with deep economic and strategic ties continuing to endure and remain essential in addressing current challenges.

The conversation highlighted how dual-use technologies have moved to the center of transatlantic cooperation, reshaping the intersection of innovation, security, and industrial strategy.

Our panel discussions explored both the opportunities and challenges for companies engaging in dual-use technologies, as well as defense investment strategies and Europe’s evolving rearmament efforts.
